The Waterfowl Zone in which you are hunting determines the seasons, bag limits, and possession limits. One of the zones has several Special Management Areas (SMAs). The Humboldt Bay South Spit SMA is located to the west of the Humboldt Bay. To see the legal boundaries, go to 14 CCR § 502(b)(6)(B).
Bag and Possession Limits
The daily bag limits for hunting the Humboldt Bay South Spit SMA are the same as for hunting Ducks and Geese. The same is true for the possession limits. However, waterfowl hunting is not allowed during the brant season. See 14 CCR § 502(d)(6)(C)(2).
The Humboldt Bay South Spit SMA is located within the Balance of State Waterfowl Zone.
