Horseshoe Ranch Wildlife Area

Warning shot!!! Remember, federal law also applies (link to our summary of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.) and additional may be located at the Wildlife Area that you can’t find anywhere else (e.g. check station, information kiosks, permits, reservations, road signs, etc.)

    Authorized species: all legal species, but CDFW emphasizes-

  1. Big game: deer
  2. Small game mammals: rabbit
  3. Upland game birds: band-tailed pigeon, Blue Grouse, California quail, mountain quail, Turkey, and dove

  • Directions: Take the Hornbrook exit off Interstate 5 and proceed east (right) on Copco Road for 10 miles to the confluence of Scotch and Camp creeks; turn left into the entrance of the Wildlife Area.
